Three Became One

One April 1, 2000, the former Bank of Wood River, Stromsburg Bank, and First National Aurora, plus all of their branches, were merged into one bank, named Heritage Bank. This merger was done to achieve the operational efficiencies that were necessary to compete in the modern banking environment that is technology driven. Doing so also allowed our personnel in the various branch offices to focus on sales and customer service, instead of back-office duties.
